Digital Marketing Manager

Granite Media is seeking a talented marketing manager to help us promote our growing portfolio of consumer brands - spanning travel, parenting, finance and sports - across the major social platforms.

Headquartered in San Francisco, we are a profitable early-stage media company. We aim to make quality storytelling and journalism sustainable through use of modern technologies, data science, and business innovation. We have a talented 10-person team and each member has a proven track record of success in their field. The founding team has more than a decade of experience in the industry and a previous successful exit.

This is a full-time job based in our San Francisco office.  We offer a competitive compensation package.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Work closely with Granite’s editorial team to promote new stories on social and native channels.

  • Craft compelling headlines, manage social posts and comments, and select promotional photography to help attract audiences to our published articles.

  • Become an expert on the use of Granite’s trading desk to launch campaigns and promotions.  Work with product management to help define features and drive enhancements. Run A/B tests to optimize results.

  • Help improve our content marketing effectiveness - by creating training materials, best practices, and social media guides.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year university.

  • 3-6 years of online marketing or editorial experience required.

  • Expertise in running marketing campaigns on social media platforms, especially Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Pinterest.

  • Strong written communication skills - including writing/optimizing headlines and copy editing.

  • A knack for knowing exactly how to engage audiences on social platforms and the chops to quantitatively measure and learn from historical results.

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced startup environment.

  • Effective time management skills – ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
